We'll immediately after writing this post I had a bit of a brain wave and I was right. The co-axial cable join onto the premade wiring harness was bad which shorted pin 24 to pin 2 just before the computer plug. The solder on the outer shield had melted through the insulation into the center ...

Im running a MS-II V3.0 board with 2.892 code.
I am using it to control fuel injection of a 3.9L 1996 V8 Landrover Discovery engine.
