Re: Prime Pulse

Well, they state in the megamanual that for cranking, MS hits all the low impedance injectors with a solid pulse every tach pulse, so I expected the same for the prime pulse. The prime is only 4msec, so unless the 12v source impedance isn't the best, apparently MS should be able to so it. It's more ...

Re: Prime Pulse

Yup, same thing. The JimStim will show both injector banks firing at switch ON. But, one of the banks is PWMing, not ON constant during the prime pulse. I was using the prime pulse to diagnose one bank not firing. I spent 3 days trying to figure this out and finally I scoped it and saw what was ...

Prime Pulse

This is sort of a loaded question. My question, does the solid, no PWM prime pulse occur for both injector banks? I found with my MSII v3, code version 2.92, TBI, 4 low impedance injectors, 2 and 2 alternating, that the prime pulse is a solid pulse for 4msec on one bank of 2 and the other bank has ...

Re: VE, AFR, other table menus greyed out

Got it. Thanks for replying. A conflict between baro/map settings in two places in the menus was causing the VE and AFR table problem. The "other table" problem greeting out was because of two point setting vs. table setting in general settings.
Thanks!

Re: VE, AFR, other table menus greyed out

Thanks for the reply, Lance.
The ECU is set ok. What I did find was buried in the msextra forum about a conflict with baro/map settings must agree in two separate places in Tunerstudio in order for the tables to open up. The VE and AFR tables are now opened up. However, I still have a problem with ...

VE, AFR, other table menus greyed out

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I was a seasoned Megatune user several years ago and have just been driving the car since. Now I have a new street rod, new Megasquirt II with v2.92 firmware. I'm trying to get used to Tunerstudio. It's fighting me. I can't load in VE tables, AFR tables or other ...

Re: First startup with MSII questions

Hi Andrew,

Well, you found it! That's a good thing. Once you get the wiring issues taken care of, you can venture back into the tuning process. But, you need all your sensors 100% first. Glad you found it. I thought that when you had zero ohms at pin 20 and 7, that you were checking the wire ...

Re: First startup with MSII questions

The only thing I can think of left is that somehow you tried to calibrate the IAT in MegaTune and the calibration got messed up. Try going back to the default for that. Maybe something is messed up there.

You have a host of problems. 1. Get the IAT fixed. 2. Maybe something is corrupted in Megatune ...

Re: First startup with MSII questions

Careful with just throwing that file into your ECU! It may not be match up well enough for you to run off of without additional tweaks. For instance, I'm not port injecting, I'm throttle body injecting. There are probably more things that are different. I do have a blower on mine, and that certainly ...

Re: First startup with MSII questions

Hi Andrew,

Check to be sure your wiring to the IAT isn't pinched and shorted somewhere. I know it can happen, I did it. Then pull the connector on the IAT and try and measure resistance there. You should get around 3.2K to 3.5K, whether it be the open style or you're using the closed slug style ...

Re: IAT placement

I learned a similar lesson recently. I put the sensor below the blower, thinking that it was where the higher temperature air is, and that's what's going into the engine. Problem is, I'm injecting ABOVE the blower, and it was just messing things up for tuning. It would also heatsoak under there and ...

Re: big afr swings

I checked your MAPdot signal in your msl file. It's really all over the place. That little sucker will really amplify whatever your MAP does. It's the rate of change of MAP. I don't know if it's causing your problem, but I just put the fuel filter and orifice on mine, and it really smoothed out the ...
