If this is you helping, stop. It's not helpful. I am looking for answers, not smart behind responses. Thank you. Have a nice day.

Re: MS2 only runs on START...?

Wrong. It dies because the ignition cuts out when the button is released. The carbs work perfectly.

Re: MS2 only runs on START...?

The TCI is gone and MS runs the show. No hard part problems at all, as it runs perfect (on carbs) with the starter button held down. As soon as you let go, dead.

MS2 only runs on START...?

Recently my MS system left me broke down on the side of the road and I have since been trying to figure out the problem. Since then, I can't get it to start. It will stumble and fire but as soon as you let off the starter, it instantly dies. Last night, I pulled off the throttle bodies and put on ...

Re: Switched from USB to serial and MT connection flashes...?

It seems strange that it would connect at all if there was damage, or that it would flash so rhythmically. Not to mention that it does it while the engine is not running and everything is perfectly still.

Re: Switched from USB to serial and MT connection flashes...?

I have it, but haven't really invested the time to figure it out. Maybe you could give me a refresher on exactly what settings need to be in both MT and in the divice manager for the serial port. And, I will check into TS. thanks, Matt.

Re: Switched from USB to serial and MT connection flashes...?

PC. It is an older GoBook (progressive insurance field claim computer) running XP. It is kind of sweet because it has a touch screen. When it connects it responds to changes from the sensors (TPS, MAP, O2, etc) until it flashes off connection. It is not MS restarting as it will do it while the bike ...

Re: Switched from USB to serial and MT connection flashes...?

Well I tried values from 2-10 and none seemed to really make a difference. Any other ideas? I really don't want to go back to USB as it takes up more space and is easily disconnected.

Switched from USB to serial and MT connection flashes...?

I have been running more or less flawlessly on my serial to USB converter for months. I finally found a serial cable and decided to use it due to space issues and the ability to screw down the connections. I changed MT to the proper com port for the serial and changed the setting. When I power up MS ...

Re: Bike won't start with FI

I did initially and had no luck. Turns out I was still way off. I talked to my buddy and got a more reasonable number, and it fired right off. I will be test riding soon. I want to use the automatic mixture control to further configure VE tables. The manual says it has to be in 'closed loop,' but I ...

Bike won't start with FI

I am having trouble getting my bike to start on fuel injection. I recently took it out on a test-ride with carbs and the MS controlling the GM DIS ignition system. It ran great. It will sputter a little while cranking, but that is it. The VE table should be very close because I got the values from ...

Re: I give up, I need help

So in the MS wiring diagram it shows pin 26 (5Vref) going to the TPS. Is it cool to just split it with one going to the TPS and one going to the ICM?

Re: I give up, I need help

I am thinking that the A-F plug, pi n E goes to the tachometer...? Should I use this or the one out of the MS?

Also, unlike cars, most motorcycles (older ones at least) don't have a start position that only puts power to some things and not others. As an alternative, shat about using one of the ...

Re: I give up, I need help

So the relay should be set up so that when the key is in the RUN position, the relay completes the connection between the tan/black and the MS VREF terminal (pin 26)...? After this clafification, I think I will be ready to go :D .
Thanks, Matt. As always, you are a life-saver.

Could you give me more info on the bypass thing. I know how to set up a relay, but where are the relay signals and the 5 volts coming from?

I am kicking my self in the behind for not making a note of it, but I think it was either the 92 or 98 4 cylinder.

I give up, I need help

I am finally starting installation of my MS. I plan on installing the ignition system first, testing it on carburation, and then adding the FI once I know the ignition system is functioning properly.

So, I am using a Saturn GM DIS ICM. I have been reading for days and just can't get it all straight ...
