Re: 35 pin ECU connector

I'd suggest getting a wreck and desoldering it from the pcb.

Re: Toyota 6 wire IAC not working

We ended up ditching it and going with a 'Ford' pwm IAC. Works OK, and easier in the end.

Toyota 6 wire IAC not working

Hello! We are trying to get the 6 wire IAC on a Toyota 1uz (v8) working. We have tried various settings, wire combinations and whatnot and the most we get is the motor itself 'buzzes' on startup. Has anyone else successfully gotten one of these motors to work? Any clues - wiring or configuration wis...

Re: EDIS SPARK PLUG WIRES

Rumor has it that Ford of Australia actually used the Chrysler coils with the EDIS module from the factory. Apparently they were easier to get locally. The only EDIS module equipped cars here in Australia (that I know of) were Mondeo and maybe some Exploder models. Everything else had EDIS control ...

So, not really practical on a regularly driven road car? I suppose OEM's would use them on their high powered stuff if it was a good proposition.

Just about any VR sensor will work - off a Ford EDIS, a Subaru, BMW, whatever! Should be very easy to get from a car wrecker (junkyard).

Slide gate throttles..

Hello all! Given the low cost now of laser cutting and such, has anyone revisited slide gate throttles? I know jaguar tried it in the 1960's, but has anyone tried it since? I reckon it would be great for those of us without much room - plus on my setup it could go on without any other mods to the in...

Any coolant sensor will do if A) it fits B) you have some specs for it. Also, you can get '2 sensors in on' they have 2 or 3 terminals and actually have 2 separate sensors in the same body - maybe you can get one to suit your gauge and use the other for the MS. A VDO catalogue would be a good place ...

I think you need to first make sure you have spark - and spark at the right time. Check using an old plug or spark gap to see if you have spark on all cylinders. Then use a timing light to make sure #1 is firing 10degrees btdc. If that is all working, then it is time to check the MS box and its wiri...

No TPS? You will still be able to start the motor without tps connected. It should be easy enough to cobble something together (eg, an adaptor) made from a Mira switch insides (the part that goes onto the shaft) and another and make up a piece to match a potentiometer tps you obtain easily. You will...
