Re: MLV 4.0.01 for linux does not start

I decided to ask our programming guru here at work ( www.fluidimaging.com ) We installed it on his Ubuntu laptop and it worked fine so we went back to mine, he ran me through the terminal, had me un tar the folder, ran java -jar MegaLogViewer.jar and now it starts again. :yeah!:

Re: MLV 4.0.01 for linux does not start

I allowed it to update last night. It was working fine previously. But I also allowed Ubuntu to update some things at the same time so maybe they changed something. To be sure the update didn't fail I downloaded it directly from the site. That didn't work either. I also tried the BigStuff3, no luck ...

MLV 4.0.01 for linux does not start

Does anyone else have trouble starting up the latest update? I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. The terminal says that the megalogviewer.jar file is corrupt.

Reducing timing causes a leaner burn, help me understand

So during cruise (2000-2500 RPM), if I reduce my timing and don't change fueling, the 02 sensor reports a leaner burn. Why is this?

If I pull it back 3 degrees. Example: I change it from 20 to 17 deg BTDC, it will change the AFR from 16.0 to 17.0.

I'm just trying to understand the basics of this ...

Re: Catalytic converter red hot - high exhaust temps rough t

It was only running on 2 cylinders. The other 2 cylinders weren't firing but the gas was getting pumped down the exhaust and burning at the cat. This is why they say to be careful.

Re: tip in?

It's a combination of things and I'm trying to figure it out myself. Seems like this:

correct timing and afr during throttle lift and shift.
correct timing and afr during throttle tip in

The fueling for tip in is sensitive and must be adjusted with acceleration enrichment

So this is tuning ...

Re: Symptom of failing 2-wire PWM idle valve?

Doh! It wasn't sticking, it's just that the crank-to-run time has no effect. After it starts it goes straight to run position. I created a different topic for this issue:

PWM idle valve not staying in cranking position

I have a 2 wire bosch valve, which comes standard on the mk2 VW. It works fine in closed and open loop mode but the crank-to-run taper time has no effect. After cranking it goes straight to run position. Like immediately, I cannot see any tapering. Even if I set the crank position to have a very ...

Symptom of failing 2-wire PWM idle valve?

Hi,

I have 3 bosch 2-wire idle valves. 1 does not respond at all, must be dead. 1 is inverted and the 3rd is normal. They were all built for the mk2 VW Corrado.

I'm using the normal curve unit right now and it hasn't been a long time on the MS but it has started to not go to cranking position at ...

What's your timing look like around 2000 RPM and cruising?

I'm fighting a stutter at part throttle and cruising. This for my 2.0L is about 2000 RPM and 50 kPa. I keep reducing the timing but am I going in the right direction? Right now in the high teens to 20 BTDC. Should I go lower or higher? Leave it and look at something else?

Catalytic converter red hot - high exhaust temps rough tune

So I'm driving the 1990 16V VW around (no supercharger yet). It's got a rough tune but I think I'm heading in the right direction finally. I drive around the block a couple times, maybe 3 miles. When I stop I see smoke coming from under the car....the inlet of the cat is glowing red hot and the ...

Yeah, that works. I see what happened. Even though I told it to extract the files it only extracted tunerstudio32.sh. I was clicking that. Once I actually copied the files to a folder it starts up as it should.

Thanks!

Trying to install Tunerstudio in Ubuntu

I have a good Toshiba, just a couple years old and has a 9 pin com port. But it worked like crap with Vista. So I recently made the switch to Ubunto 10. I'd really like to learn the OS but am having a hard time. I've downloaded the Release Candidate version 0.999.7 RC3, extracted the files to my ...

Re: How many inputs are there?

Thanks for the quick response, Matt. I'd like to get an LSD during this round of auto purchases, it doesn't look like the GPIO will make it in the budget. I think 2 extra will be good for now. EGT's will have to wait.
