MSD for Tacho Signal?

Post by Paul Smith »

My 6200 MSD ignition unit has a tacho signal output. 12 volt square wave signal with a 20% duty cycle. (whatever that means) Can I use that as the signal for the MS?

Paul,

Is that a 6-series box? If it is you can use the tach output connection on the side of the box, the same place as the wire goes to for your tach. That's what I'm using and it's what a couple of other guys told me worked.

good luck!

Thanks.
Yes it's a 6200/6A. My tacho won't operate using that output so it's spare. Running the MS from that is nice and convenient. :D
