one or two injectors??

Post by Glen Byrns »

I'm using MSI and plan to fuel inject a turbocharged 4cyl motor. The injection will be between the turbo and the throttle body (wet-turbo). the pipe is 6" long. Would it be better to use two smaller injectors whose total flow is sufficient or one larger injector that may give idle issues? I need a total of about 77lbs/hour. Batch fired, I suppose.
Injecting after the turbo is not an option.

Thanks,

number of injectors

Thanks Jim,
I hadn't thought about the effect of atomized fuel on the goodies downstream. The MAT, boost gauge tap, FPR and MAP tap will all be in the wet manifold, right at the split of the stream into two runners. The deadend tubes(FPR, boost gauge and MAP) shouldn't allow any flowthrough, but the little filters on each line might be a good idea. Would you split the signal for the three from a single filtered tap?

Sounds like two injectors will be the way to go. Now the trick is finding the right pair.
