Bosch aux air regulator

Post by tewbert »

My Nissan VG30E engine has the Bosch air regulator on it and I plan on using this vs the Fidle or PWM controls. The megamanual mentions this in it and it would require less wiring and tuning on my part. I'm using MSII, with the V2.2 board. I also read that I need to remove the fidle relay on my relay board and install a jumper. It references two holes for the jumpers but the relay socket is already installed on the relay board preventing this. Can I just jumper 2 of the spades in the socket instead and, if so, which 2?

Also, if I'm using a MSD ignition, do I need to install the ignition control jumper on the mainboard for this MS-II feature?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Are you using this:

If so, leave the fast idle relay in place! Then, there is a small jumper location on the relay board with 3 holes. You want to connect the middle hole to the one that says "V". This will apply 12v to regulator instead of grounding it (grounding would do nothing).

Then, in Megatune, go to output port settings, select FIdle, enable it, variable should be coolant, select ">", set your threshold temp for when you'd like the regulator to close (drop RPMs), set hysterisis to 10 (so the relay doesn't go on and off while it's hovering around the threshold temp), and set the power-on value and triggered value to 1.

Disable any other idle control!

The reason you have to do this is because the bosch regulator drops idle when current is applied, not the other way around.

your welcome!

And lemme know if you have any questions. It works great on mine. That output ports option for the MSII is a godsend :) !
