June 27, 07 my order was being processed.

I received a non-working board. Won't work in my car, won't work in a friends car that already has working MS.

I've been so busy with work over the last few months I haven't been really able to actively pursue this, but if you guys find him, it'd be great if you could give me a heads up.

Thank you

distortionwarrior@gmail.com is an email addy of his. I still have the original email he sent me, perhaps you could get an IP address out of it to track him down with?

This is really annoying.

I have an overdue order with one of the current "approved vendors" and do you think I can get him to answer my emails?

I'm not happy because from where it sit it looks to me like I've done my money cold.

This sort of thing is really has the potential to negate the efforts of all those good people who have contributed their time and effort to make MS the success it is.

I think there needs to be a buyer feedback mechanism similar to ebay.

Well this vendor has finally gotten in touch after I sent him a PM.

It looks like the original item has been lost in transit so a replacement is now on its way.

I can only stress how important it is for vendors to reply to emails.

Hi!

I see that Glen is no longer on the official suppliers list, I have not gotten to the clear what the reason is for this. Can anyone explain.
I first thougt there were economical reasons but by reading on the forum I have second thoughts about that, are there other reasons.?

I am trying to communicate this info to the swedish MS-site, so I don´t want to get it wrong.

Glen got backed up a bit in his orders, so he stopped taking new orders for a while, but he is now caught up and will be put back on the list tomorrow.

I just spoke to mrdoug... it turns out that he placed an order with another vendor on 1/24, before canceling the order he placed with me. We talked about the situation and parted on what seemed to be good terms.

Bruce/Al - I'm sure you both know by now that i've been a supporter of this project since I first found out about it years ago. I've had my fair share of issues but after having a coke and a smile, worked out the problems to get it across the line. I think we're all moving in the right direction, forward!. In saying that, if there is anyway/shape/form I can contribute to the ongoing success from this side of the globe, do not be afraid to ask!

Hello,

My name is Jean,

I am from France and I am running a Ford Escort RS Turbo.
I don't know much about standalone ECU but I am really interested in Megasquirt, especially MS2.

Actually I still no have buy the ECU because I am interrogating myself about the dealer we have here in France and near from here in Switzerland.

A friend of mine who is using a ms2 on his Peugeot 2.0L 8v Turbo told me to ask my question here. He is using a MS2 with 3.57board from DIYAutoTune.

But for my car we are looking for a MS2 v3.0 PCB.

Here is my question about dearlers here is France.

Since I want to avoid custom fees from importing all the parts we need from US, I have found 2 dealers, gestion-moteur.org , FenixEcu http://www.fenixecu.com/megasquirt and in Switzerland Antikmachine.

Gestion-moteur.org doesn't seem to sell v3.0 PCB, only 3.57 for 310€ (422$ US) wich is for me the same price as DIYAutoTune WITHOUT the heavy custom fees so the price is normal for a official distributor.

The other one, FenixEcu (I didn't see this website on the official dealer list) is selling the MS2 v3.0PCB kit and an assembled option is also available.

But, the prices are very expensive, they are selling the v3.0 kit 275.07€ ( 374$ US !!!!) and assembled 370€ ( 504$ US !!  ). It is almost 100$ more expensive than the 3.57 at gestion-moteur.org and the unassembled kit is amost 150$ US more expensive compared to the price at DIYAutoTune :? http://www.fenixecu.com/boutique?page=s ... gory_id=13

They seems to have a support forum but only almost with link of the megamanual and on their main website page they are saying that they have are friend with Bowling & Grippo, DIYAutoTune, Glen's garage.

I didn't found any information about them, is it normal ? And what about the prices ?? I don't know what to do, if they are serious or not, supported reseller or not but there is a HUGE different of price :|

And for the last, Antikmachine seem to sell only v2.2 MS.

Thanks you for helping about all of this and I am verry sorry for the mistake I have made in english.

Thanks

Jean

Hello Jean,

I am Manu from FenixEcu. To explain your troubles i can say :

DiY and Glen are my actual suppliers. Due to the low cost of MS systems, I can't get a great discount from them. B&G will become my new supplier when MS3 will be released.

Yes, MS systems are more expensives at FenixEcu than in US. Why ? Because I pay custom fees (40% of goods AND shipping cost plus a single charge for each shipping) and french fees (charges sociales that cost more of 38% based on french selling price) ! Make an quick calculation and you should understand my French Final price. Of course I can't sell them for free... And I can say that I don't earn a lot of money on each MS ecu sold :-(

I also give support to all my French customers in french language. And they are not all able to speak and write english like you. This is "my French Touch"...

GestionMoteur.org is owned by a relationchip of mine and, because his supplier is B&G, I don't want to sell 3.57 PCB to let his hands free.

I should go further with MegaSquirt when MS3 is avalaible, not before...

Off course you can find some cheaper MS ECU out of France ! Buy it !!!

Regards,
Manu

Glens Garage
Hi I just want to ask why this dealer is able to advertise on here he is clearly not capable of doing his job to an acceptable level.
I have read a good few reports of him letting people down he has nearly £200 pounds of mine and dosnt respond in any way to my emails etc.
If he is able to take the money he is able to email and at least make an excuse for the delay
I have had a few megasquirts over many years but when I say to people that I have megasuirt the reaction is normaly NO NOT ONE OF THOSE and with dealers like this I can understand why.

Update on Glen's Garage.
The website looks like all is well. It's not.
I placed two orders, talked on the phone with him, all seemed fine. I sent payment by check, which he said was the only form of payment he accepts.
That was two months ago.
Talked on the phone again, he said he had been busy and would get it shipped the following day.
That was a month ago.
I finally placed stop payment on my checks, since neither one shows as cashed.
I guess he just doesn't give a crap about following through on anything.
I dont care how good his 3 wire ICV boards are/were. His site should be shut down.

Buzzbomb,

Glen's Garage is not on the list of approved vendors ( http://www.megamanual.com/v22manual/mintro.htm#group ) and has not been on that list for a long time. We have no control over Glen's site, we can only post the feedback we get here and advise people to buy from the approved vendors list.

I understand that, this was more of a public service announcement. I just wanted to bring this to the attention to anyone who considers anything he offers on his site because his name comes up in the community. I don't want anyone to go to his site thinking that they would actually receive something they order.

There is a company in the UK which has a big presence MS wise on Ebay called QPS. Unlike the only listed official UK dealer listed, ExtraEFI, they do DIY assembly kits, which are good value compared to importing from DIYAutoTune, and paying the high carriage costs and import duty on a single item. So I assume they buy in bulk and use a surface carrier to reduced those costs. Have used then a few times without problems.

But then bought a JimStim kit from them, and got a PM saying they were waiting for them to come in. About 3 months later, still hadn't arrived. So I got a refund. They then re-listed the same thing, but still not in stock.

Just mentioned it as it seems an odd way to run a business.
