throttle position sensor issue

Post by preludefan »

hi everyone

i have finally figured out all of my ms2/v3 issues except for one.

megatune does not see my tps at all, i have had it wired up to the actual car tps and on the stim but no joy.

the entire tps circut seems to be correct with no cold solder joints and every track passes a continuity test with flying colours so heres my question -is it possible to have downloaded a faulty copy of megatune/ms firmwire?

or is it more possible that my prosessor is dead?

any help would be great as after going dwn all of the right avenues i am still confused as to whats going on with it!

thanks in advance!

ok i have reloaded the code
(2.88 ) however megasquirt is now in a safe mode but i dont know how to select which ecu i have - im using megatune v2.25.

Note that for 2.88 Code, the first thing you must do is set the ECU Type (under 'Fuel Set-Up/General') to match your hardware (MS-II opr MicroSquirt), MegaTune will not let you change anything else until you do this. ECU Type setting was inserted to head off the potential MicroSquirt problems due to the coils being turned on with the old default configuration. As of the 2.88 code, if ECU Type is not set, the code will put the ignition outputs in a safe state (cycling the rpm from 0 to 8000 rpm, and also flashing the fuel pump LED) and wait until a known ECU type is put in by the user.

this says how to do it but i cant find the fuel setup/general in megatune or the configurator- anywhere -the only general i have is under settings and that has nothing to do with selecting the ecu type- can someone please walk me though this?

cheers
