The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.
From what I've read on the Palm programming sites, there should be no problems. I've just picked up a Treo650 myself. I'll be working on the BT support for the Palm applications in the coming days, and will post results here.

Roger.
I guess it's all theoretical at this point until you get one but can you program a bluetooth interface independent of the one provided with the treo? That is one that will recognize the CSA (cordless serial adapter) listed on http://www.megamanual.com/com/bluetooth.html ?
From reading the Palm programming documentation, I see no limitation with the Treo Bluetooth capabilities. There's also reports of Treo owners using their devices to control telescopes using the same serial-bluetooth devices we are using. The only problems I expect are due to my lack of programming skills as opposed to hardware capability. As you say, though, it's all theoretical until the testing is done. Don't give away that Treo just yet!

Just a brief note to say the Treo650 with BlueTooth connection to MS ran PalmLog successfully for the first time last night. I still need to finish BT-enabling all the other features, but a release will be soon.

Great news Roger. My biggest problem at the moment is trying to read these forums, looks like Win98 has to go...plus the $7.00 Bluetooth dongle I bought for the PC USB port has software that will not run on Win98 (bluesoleil), but the RS232 to Bluetooth unit for MS appears to be ready to go, thats the main thing!
Awesome work guys!! I'm very interested in picking up a PDA phone with bluetooth after reading this.
Does your Treo650 have the serial comm capability? Would a PDA phone without the universal connector work fine with the Bluetooth despite not being able to connect with a cable? I'm interested in the Centro... not sure if that has the universal connector or not.
Not yet. Roger is very busy at the time, but he have made some progress. He have made the palmlog working with the bluetooth connection. I have a copy of it and it logs fine, a bit slow screen update, but I thing that can be better in time.
Still have some problems sending the log to megatune!
