HEGO sensors from ford

Post by spacko oz »

Can i use the original HEGO sensors from a 5.0 ford motor. Do they always send a signal back to the ecu or are they only good for warmup?.
I ask this as a freind is telling me that they are only good for warmup and stop working when car is been drivin. Or am i better just buying 2 wideband sensors and using them.
Any help appreciated

if you are gonnna tune for some good power on your own i would get a wide band they are great and you can get by on just one but i think the stock on will give an out put as long as you are reading it the heated put it just to keep it at operating temp at low loads and such but it is a narrow band sensor only good for really setting idle and cruise afr s but it s better than nothing if you can t afford the other one zane
