ignition
I have the msii running v2.33 w edis6 on my 7mgte supra engine.
I got the ms second hand and I had a experienced installer look over the wiring and it was good upon install. We had the thing running good.
It sat for about 2 years while I rebuilt my engine.
Now since connecting it we have had some problems. It initally started right up but the "tune" it had disappeared, havent been able to get it running long enough to start tuning and have been weeding out underlying problems, now I think its solely ms.
A few loose connections have been taken care of in the eng compartment and the relay board was thoroughly cleaned after the main fuse connection was found to have corroded from rain exposure..
Now it will intermittently start up but after a few moments running then dies and will not start again.
In megatune all of my sensors appear to be functioning normally except the tach.
My tach in the car is picking up signals from the ignition but the ms itself is not reading rpms nor does it know when the engine is cranking.
Its done it 3 times now, started up and then died.
Last night I found a loose bullet connector going to the ms from the edis module. Recrimped a new connector and hooked it up so I thought I had found the smoking gun. The car started up and I thought all was well ,then this am again it would not start, tonight it started, ran for 30 seconds and then died.
I dont see anything loose.
THe ms is not reading rpm, ignition advance or dwell.
My car tach is reading though.
Can someone tell me where to look or what could me a common problem..
I dont have scope, just a multimeter...
Re: ignition
can a multimeter tell me anything? or do i need a scope? I figure if I can rule in that the ignition signals are going to the ecu consistently then its got to be somthing in the ecu...

Re: ignition
The edis harness that connects to the ford module has about 1/4 to 1/2 play moving in and out before the clip that keeps it in place does its thing.
When its that far out all the symptoms are reproduced ie: no ignition or very weak ignition when running.
It feels like a whole new car now.
I think the aftermarket module does not have the holding notch in the right place.
