Car won't start when hot

Post by thumperf350 »

It cranks, I smell fuel (maybe too much), my timing light flashes when cranking, it cold starts better faster and harder than any of my other cars. It dumps right into a perfect idle as well. I don't necessarily know if the pwm valve is working but the way it is running it's not a main concern. Any ideas, advice anything??

Sounds like you need to adjust the Cranking Pulse Width settings when the engine is hot. If you smell fuel, it's probably too much.

You might want to try that too, but first you really should fix having more cranking pulse width when hot than when cold.

ouch! that's embarrassing! so just to double check if my car is firing no problem cold at 2ms then i should start the hot at somewhere around .5 or so and see how that does? thanks for catching that matt. funny how one can stare at the screen and not notice the obvious.

That sounds like a good starting point to me.
