Nope. Not that I know of.

I don't know where all the beta testers live, but I'm pretty sure none of them are over that way.

Ahh well.. If anyone wants to see sequential in action on the MS2, I'll be more than happy to show it working on my van. :)

Stumbled on this by accident! I would have kicked myself (hard) if I had missed it. Looking forward to the presentations! ...now to find a Squirted car to drive down there... If only it was a week later I would've had the GTX all buttoned up.

I can bring my soldering iron and some supplies to do this, but I won't be there until after work I'll try hard to get off early, but probably not before noon Saturday. I'll try to stop by the hotel tonight too.

My car is not running yet....some snags with the throttle cable which is taking a longer than usual time to get here from Mustangs unlimited...at least this will give me some time to do other things..

Also, I have a few spare Spectre EMSPro's laying around as well as universal harnesses for sale...all offers considered.

FYI...The big auto parts swap meet at the Monroe fairgrounds Saturday/Sunday...

Great event! Thank you Bruce, Al and Lance. I’m amazed, not only about the capabilities of MS3, but how fast it is coming down the pike.

Lance, I hung out at Pacific Raceways in the paddock area until 9:15 Sunday morning with the TR8, but couldn’t find the group and finally took off. Sorry I missed you guys. I was looking forward to working on some fine tuning.

Ken, I was the first phone guy, but my speaker phone was not loud enough. Thank you for joining us.

BTW - You get some funny looks when you cruise by groups of drag racers in the paddock asking if they are with the Megasquirt group. <LOL>

Thanks again for having a West Coast meet. It was great to finally meet some of the brains behind the MegaSquirt.

Lance, your presentation was excellent, it answered a lot of questions I had from the last time I looked at the MS2-Extra source code. I'm half tempted to take a stab at the code should the need ever arise, now that I've got a little bit more of an understanding of the syntax.

I don't read these boards very often but I was at Pacific Raceways today and got word that this meet was going on by a few others. I was the guy in the red Volvo 740 Turbo. I had fun at the track but left a little disappointed. I made my first run at 15-16psi and no big burnout or anything, I just wanted to do a shakedown run first. That run was 13.957 @ 101.16 on a 2.163 60'. Then I turned the boost up and was really looking forward to making a run at 20psi but on my second run I broke an axle right after I launched.

Overall I am happy that I trapped 101.16 on 16psi, but I really was looking for a deep 13 and 105+mph traps. FWIW the last time I went to the track was with the stock engine and turbo and at 14psi I did 15.0 @ 92. So with the stuff I have done it looks like I have about 100hp more at 2psi higher boost.

Also it looks like I have finally cured all my MS resets relating to my LS1 coil packs!

Firstly a big thank you to everyone connected with putting together this event I had a fantastic time. Thanks also to whoever paid for lunch on the Saturday, a very pleasant surprise I can tell you. Saturday night was a fitting end to a most wonderful day. It was great to meet everyone and see how people are using the megasquirt. I am certainly glad I made the effort because I am left with more confidence regarding what direction I take. I am extremely happy my questions were answered because now I have even more to ask and many more things to think about.
Fantastic stuff and thanks again, I'll be looking forward to the opportunity again in the future.
Best regards
bundyrum.

Thanks to everyone who attended. I especially enjoyed the programming tips Lance presented on custom configuring the GPIO. Very good information presented in laymans terms, you can tell that a ton of work has been done in this area, Thanks much Lance Al and Bruce for some great information presented in a professional manner..

Also big Thank you! to B&G for footing the bill for lunch at the fireside grill...Very nice.

All apologies, Due to a previous engagement, I had to leave early on Saturday and couldn't make it with a Megasquirt powered car. Though next year with a little more advance warning, I will make it with a 'squirted car, even if i have to borrow one...lol. Still, the meet this year was a great suprise, and very nice to see Bruce, Al, and Lance again, also everyone who made it, this really puts a face and personality to the forums.

Awesome info, and many thanks to Al, Bruce and Lance for everything. I can see why you guys are so excited about much of this! I already have several projects planned that will use the info presented Saturday. 8) It was also great poking around some of the MS projects that were there. The Quad was beautifully done. The Nissan with Subaru coil packs was very cool and a great example of a typical DIY install that just works - and just finished yet drove-in from Idaho! And UnaClocker's sequentially-injected 2L - that's a whole book of info there!

Sunday kind-of bombed and, although Charles (FixItAgainTony) and I hung at the track from about 9am to nearly 1pm - we couldn't locate anyone. We probably walked right past MS cars and didn't know it! I would like to help with organizing next year's meet, and get some mixing of all the awesome features of MS and its users - geek-talk, hands-on, show & tell, model tuning, dyno tuning, applied-tuning (as opposed to general tuning theory), hardware application, problem solving, etc. Lance - I think Portland may be a great location for pulling MSers from a wider area, if we can get folks in that area to lock-in the facilities we need. I was impressed we filled the conference room at the Best Western on such relative short notice! Whatever we do, it's gonna be awesome!

Thanks for setting the meet up. It was great to meet everyone and learn a bit more about where MS is going.
Jack – David and I must have just missed you.
David - thank you for helping me get around and the great introduction to track operations. My hearing is starting to come back…

Charles.
FIAT - Probably by minutes, as I hung out by the admission booth, with a MS Logo'd binder sitting on the rear bumper of my TR8 for the last 1/2 hour before I took off.

Lance, no problem. Even though I didn't get tuning help on Sunday, I got some serious motivation. If you can dial in Portland and PIR, give us some lead time to get prepared. My TR8 has an SCCA legal roll bar for track days. . . . . In the mean time, I'll see if I can drag MegaScott (missed you on Satuday AM, Scott) down here for a tuning session sometime over the winter.

Thanks again, everyone for putting together this event.

I agree. I've been thinking about this quite a bit since the meet. What we need is a full weekend of activities/talks planned. Maybe split the talks into 2 hour sessions, at the beginning and end of each day. In the middle of the day one day, (I think I heard someone mention this) have a rolling car show.. Everyone that has come with an MS'd vehicle roll it "on stage" in front of everyone, show it off, answer questions about it, and then move on to the next person.. It'd be a bit like a car auction with the cars rolling on stage.. I've been to dyno tuning events before.. It never goes as well as you might expect it to.. Each car really needs 2-3 hours minimum to get a real tune on it, especially if it was REALLY rough to begin with. Then there's the mount/dismount time, toss in some disorganization and you're lucky to have 4 cars on it in a full 12 hour day.. But if we were to just plan 1 car up on the dyno and have a kind of class session on something like "this is how you would dyno tune a MS on a dyno".. That would be educational for all.. Another thing I'd really love to see at one of these MegaMeets would be a bit longer programming class from Lance, and then after that class, have the people that took the class group up, with the number of people we had this time, I could see 3 groups of 5 or so being about right.. Give each group a GPIO unit, and a laptop with Codewarrior installed on it.. Then have each group build SOMETHING with their units.. Either let each group decide, or assign them something. Give them an hour to pull it off (so it would need to be a modest goal), and then after the time is up, have them present what they've done. It would give all the attendants a feeling of achievement as well as some real confidence in their ability to use the unit.
And then maybe have a session where we all install a MS on a car as a group.. Maybe this is pretty remedial compared to some of the talks that were given, but I think a lot of people could use this kind of class as well. I know I could install an MS in an hour if I was just going for a "make it work now, make it pretty some other day" kind of install.. Yeah, I think it'd be one jam packed weekend of MS geek love.. :)
Just some of the ideas I've had.. :D

Lance wrote:Jack and everyone else,

It was a great meet, lots of fun, lots of info, and lots of discussion (both at the meet and at the bar). Unfortunately, I had to deal with a family emergency at home, and had to leave for Canada right after dropping Bruce and Al at the airport, so I never made it to the drag strip (and I won't make my scheduled road-race track day tomorrow either).

My most sincere apologies to everyone that expected me to be there. (I should probably apologize for my long-winded, badly organized, and generally ill-conceived presentation too - but I did warn everyone that they might want to get up and leave! )

Maybe next year we ought to think about going to somewhere like Portland?

Lance.

Lance, I enjoyed your presentation of the GPIO board the most. I was pleasantly surprised with the direction you've taken it. I wish we had more time to discuss the basic's on writing and navigating the MS code. I'am still really confused on how to involve the GUI (megatune or tuner studio) with my super simple code mod's... Those damn ini. files have been kicking my a$$ for years now!

Thanks to everyone involved, it was nice to meet other MS'rs.
