Need some help setting up

Post by rcotton »

I am new to this. I am working on the SAE supermileage competition as well as many others on this site. I can not seem to find a starting point for a VE table. The specs for our engine is outside the limits of the VE generator.
Specs
3.5Hp @3600 RPM
4.8 ft lb @2800 RPM
redline ~4000RPM
idle 800 RPM

Do I even need a VE table? How does the Alpha N work?

Thanks for any and all help.

rcotton,

You will have to tune the VE table to match your application.

Start with: http://www.megamanual.com/begintuning.htm#fuel

and: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/configure.htm#settables

and: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/tune.htm#ve

The VE table generator will not work for my application. The engine dimensions and power/torque is outside of the parameters that the VE table generator calculates
