New settings / adjustments not always saving...

Post by 1950ChevySuburban »

Hey all,
Been messing with my 250 six, got my injectors relocated to eliminate charge-robbing (see prior posts) and it runs GREAT! When I tune it in a little better, my settings aren't always saving, and revert to a previous setting.

On the MegaTune program, I select "OriginalBGcode" and then my latest saved msq file. Seems OK then, until I check my constants and enrichments and some are reverted back to a prior setting. Any ideas? I dial it back in again and the car runs great. I notice too, that when I use the Autotune function, it's good, but tends to aim lean. Is that normal?

I'm using a new narrow-band o2 sensor, MSII. Laptop computer is WinXP.

Any ideas on this?
THANKS!
John

Opening the file will cause the tune to revert to whatever it was when you last saved the file.

Ahhhhhh, OK. So if I don't open the file, the newest current one should remain in place? Is there a easy way to double-check that it was saved correctly?

Correct; with no file loaded it will pull the settings straight off the MegaSquirt. The Open command indicates "Open this file and overwrite all settings currently in the MS with it.

Not really, but I've seldom seen it save things wrong. Remember to burn all table settings to the ECU before saving.
