I see on your website that you offer kits for the VR6. Can you give me an explaination on what you offer with your kits? (wiring harness's, tuning, sensors ect) I currently live in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, and am currently enrolled in college for heavy duty equipment technician. My teacher introduced me to the MS systems and offered it as a optional project for me to do in our lvl 2 electronics systems course. Does this ecu require hacking up my factory wiring harness, or is it a straight forward installation? I apologize for my lack of knowledge with this system, but i appreciate any information that you can offer. thanks again.
Re: 95 VR6
IMHO, the best approach is to get a secondhand engine harness from a scrap yard and modify that. The MS uses a D39 connector which is almost certainly different from the one used on your car - and although it might be possible to make up an adaptor for this as with all wiring the fewer connectors the better.chubber wrote:for: PAUL_VR6

Get the schematic for your stock engine wiring and produce a modified one for the MS, choosing new wire colours as appropriate if needed.
It's far easier to modify a loom on the bench than in the car - and soldering the D39 requires care.

Re: 95 VR6
The systems I provide have all the necessary internal modifications to allow all stock sensors, coilpack, etc to be used. It comes with the software preconfigured, but I would not call it pre-tuned.
At this time I do not offer plug and play harnesses, as I just don't have the time to do them. In the past I have taken the connector out of a stock ecu and made a pigtail to the MS DB37 connector.
Below is a harness I made for my car for MS3 testing:
That is long enough to run from the stock ecu connector, through the firewall and sit on the passenger seat, believe it or not!
As stated earlier, another good option is cutting a stock harness at the connector and wiring the DB37 right there. I've never done a VR6 that way but many 4cyl VW's as the harnesses are more plentiful.
