MegaTune initial set up question

Post by halw540 »

While waiting for my MS 1 V3 I started trying to build the supporting MegaTune 2.25 data to download into the controller. My beginner questions are: 1) I have run the MegaTune configurator along with building and saving an initial set of constants settings data for car 1. When I start MegaTune, and do a file, open sequence the files showing under car 1 are: the 'mtCfg' folder and the file containing my initial data called 'megasquirt200911201709'. Should the 'megasquirt200911201709' have been saved in the 'mtCfg' folder? 2) I am going to use non-standard sensors so will be using Easy Therm. The manual says to copy the generated .s19 file from Easy Therm into MegaTune, but I cannot find where to copy it - where? 3) In the MegaTune configurator, under 'car 1', 'setting.ini', 'settings' there is a item called n2o. The default sets it, but I have not found what it is/does?

I am sure if I could have constructed better searches my questions would have been answered, so I appreciate the patience - and thanks in advance for the answers. Hal

Hal,

The megasquirt200911201709.msq file should be exactly where it is (in the project folder, but not in the /mtCfg/ sub-folder). This is also where datalogs will be saved by default.

The S19 file has to be loaded onto MegaSquirt, for MS-I the instructions are here: http://www.megamanual.com/v22manual/mcode.htm I can't recall, but you might also have to copy the .INC file that EasyTherm generates to your C:/Program Files/MegaSquirt/MegaTune2.25 folder as well - see the EasyTherm documentation for this.

The 'n20' setting is for MS-II (for switching between displaying the settings for nitrous oxide control or fixed additional fuel). You can read more about that here: http://www.megamanual.com/mt28.htm#so
