Microsquirt on ATV Vtwin ignition question

Post by tech3sandcars »

I have read alot of the manual and I think I am on the right track. I have the micro running for fuel only on one of my rigs, now I am doing another and want to do fuel and ignition. My question comes in running the ignition side of Microsquirt on a 90deg. kawasaki vtwin atv motor. The flywheel has only 2 teeth. each tooth's trailing edge is at TDC, the rising edge is about 60deg before TDC, so its kinda a 4-2 wheel. I want to run the LS2 coil or maybe another kind of logic level coil, i'll figure that out later. The only pickup on this motor is a single VR sensor on the crank flywheel. Is it doable? I am thinking M-N crank wheel, (4-2), The unit is a micro I just got from the guys at DIYAutoTune so it has the latest code in it. just not sure of the offset adjustment I need to do for this 60deg. wide tooth. Comments?

I found some of the information, looks like the offset I would use would be neg (-) 270 deg. , since the cylinders are 90 degrees apart, this is the setting under advance ignition options under dual spark, and then under the basic ignition setting I would put in the information for my offset for the 60 deg. tooth.....Am I on the right track?
