If your question is about troubleshooting, configuration, or tuning, you MUST include your processor type (MS-I or MS-II) and code version in your post. If your question is about PCB assembly or modifications, you must also include the main board version number (1.01, 2.2 or 3.0). For tuning/troubleshooting questions, please attached a datalog and your MSQ file to your post.

If you have questions about MS1/Extra or MS2/Extra code configuration or tuning, please post them at www.msextra.com Such questions posted here will be moved to: a temporary MSextra sub-forum, where they will be removed after 7 days

Comparing different Accel Enricment settings

Post by Darren »

Hi I have been searching around the forums and looking at peoples settings in their acceleration enrichment bins....

Trying to understand why some peoples Rate (%/Sec) is set into the 100's or even 1000's in each bin and others are set to

numbers in the say 15% to 150% It's like their scaled up by a factor of 10X or something...

Numbers are really all over the map on most of the Screen snaps I have looked at and am wondering what is the correct way to go with this.. Which is correct????

I'm asking the same question here also.......

Have you read this?(read the bold part)
Setting the Acceleration Enrichments

In addition to the 'regular' acceleration enrichments, also check the X-Tau enrichments.

MegaSquirt-II™ (or MicroSquirt®) has blended MAPdot/TPSdot abilities for acceleration enrichment. You can select the proportion of each using the slider in the 'Tuning/Acceleration' dialog in MegaTune (the variable is called Tps_acc_wght in the code). If you choose 100%, you get accel enrichment based on TPS only, if you choose 0%, you get accel enrichment based on MAP only. Of course you can set it to any integer between these (99%, 98%, 97%, ... 3%, 2%, 1%, etc.) and get 'blended' accel enrichment.

The default values are a good place to start (especially if your req_fuel is somewhere between 10 and 20 milliseconds). (To convert v/s (used with older versions of MegaTune) to %/s, assume that 0%=0 Volts and 100% = 5 Volts (which isn't quite true, but it is a start), then 1.0 v/s = 20 %/s, etc.)

The values on the upper right are the TPS based values (as noted by the heading above them), those on the upper left are the MAP based values.

The two vertical columns show the current TPSdot and MAPdot values, with the recent peaks 'tell-taled' in red.

Larger values in the "Value (ms)" entries increase the amount of accel enrichment. Smaller values decrease the amount of accel enrichment.

The slider chooses the percentage of MAP versus TPS, somewhere between 30% and 60% is good for most installations. Some installations may need to use values outside this range to solve specific issues.
This is how mine came with when I opened up the program.....(seemed real high as noted by Matt C.) I think the factor might/should be x 20 when converting volts to % ? (maybe?)

Ya I have read all the documentation a few times, Either I am out to space or most of the Accel enrichment's are just crap shoots and they work for ya... There doesn't seem to be an rhyme or reason to the settings people have....

As far as I understand the old MS was 0-5 Volts ( Throttle) now you are dealing with 0-100% ( Throttle) so 0-1 Volt is like 0-20% .... 2.5 Volts is the same as 50%...

I have my car running decent but when I make a change to acceleration enrichment it runs worse and I am adjusting things in the direction I would think should make it run better.. ( so obviously I don't understand the settings ... and how they are suppose to work ) :D

P.S. Won't be over to Victoria this coming weekend for the show as we are heading to Seattle to see the top Fuel-ers...
