O2/AFR not updating correctly

Post by TuXRuleZ.be »

Hello,

Yesterday i finally got my car running with my MS2. (The project was "sleeping" for a while).
Everything works fine except for the AFR that does not seem to update.

I'm using the folowing:
- V3.0 board
- MS2 running 2.891 firmware
- Innovate LC1 wideband lambda sonde

After some searching i unmounted the MS2 from the car and tested it again with the stimulator.
When testing it some furder it seems that the initial reading i'm getting is correct but it is never updated.
So when i start the MS the reading is correct but when i turn the o2 pot the value does not change untill i restart the MS2, then the correct value is shown.
It seems that the correct voltage is reaching the MS2 daughterboard but somewhere down the line something goes wrong.

Does anybody have any experience with this issue?

It sounds like there's something wrong with the sampling or lag settings. Could you post a copy of your MSQ file?

Also, AFR does not update at zero RPM. The sampling is keyed to RPM.

Thanks for the reply,

I did not know the sampling was triggered by the tach signals and as i'm using the negative coil trigger mechanism i had to reinstall the jumper over the zener diode first to make it work with the stim again.
Now it is updating correctly using the stim so i know there is probably not much wrong with my board or daughterboard.

There is however still the fact that the afr does not update correctly when installed in the car.
As you can see in the attached log file it sporadicly jumps around and seems almost act like a narrowband sensor (however i'm sure the LC1 is configured correctly and the correct output is wired to the ecu). When measuring the voltage on the relaybord you can see this move smoothly up and down unlike the data in the log.
I will be checking the relayboard and cable to the ecu tomorrow (as it is close to midnight here) to see where it goes wrong.

Anyway i have also attached my MSQ file should there still be something wrong.

I don't know what went wrong however i tested the relayboard and everything seemed fine.
When i connected the ms again and fired up the car i was getting correct readings.
There probably was a bad connection or something.

Thanks anyway.
