240sx oem dist help!

Post by StupendousMan »

I have a 240sx running MSII on the stock distributor, I can get the car to turn over and one cylinder will fire and then it's like the MS turns off for a second, or stops sending an ignition signal for a second and then it will start up and fire one cylinder again. I feel like it must be a software problem because I'm getting fuel and the mechanical timing and trigger angle are spot on. Any help would be much appreciated, this project has been driving me crazy for going on 2 years now and I'm so close but I can't get it started.

According to the log, you are not getting any RPM.

Looks like it's getting a very brief signal and then losing it - this causes the ECU to show a constant RPM for a brief period. Could you post a copy of your MSQ?

The same way you posted a copy of your data log. Below the Save - Preview - Submit buttons, you will find a pair of tabs marked "Options" and "Upload Attachment." Click the Upload Attachment tab. Then click the "Browse" button that appears. A file open dialog box will pop up. Select the file, then click Open. Then fill in the description in the field below the file name. Once you have all that, click Add the File. Repeat this, starting with "Browse," to add more files. Once you have these all attached, you can enter your post and the files will be attached.

You should have mentioned MegaTunix - MSQ is a MegaTune / TunerStudio file format. MegaTunix uses its own file format. I need your tune file, and would prefer you post it in MSQ form if possible.

Nothing blatantly wrong there that I could see - does it get a good RPM signal on a Stimulator?

What pull up resistor value are you using on the input circuit?
