General MS tuning question: VE table changes

Post by TTC »

Hey folks, been doing some tuning this week trying to get my afrs done a bit as I up the boost. I have a question, when using the logger and such lets say at whatever given kPa/rpm ive got four cells lit up with various shades of opacity. Which one will generally change the afr the most, the darkest? IT seems when i change the four it affects the rpm/kPa piont beneath to often.

For instance at 5000 rpm and 200kpa ill aim for AFR A lets ay 11.5. The lit up cell will suround the four around that piont, when I change all four to get down to lets say 11.3 the cells beneath the 4 change those afrs to much. Is there just a nack from experience or do u have suggestions?

Hi TTC,

The only tuning by hand I do anymore (and it has been awhile actually) is in the area right around idle. Everything else I let MegaLogViewer do the adjustments based on my target AFR's.

Try playing around with the idle mixtures to get a feel for how the AFR's change as you change the cell values. And use MegaLogViewer if you aren't already.
