VE table

Post by 355vette »

454 BBC with dual GM tbi on tunnel ram, MSII V3 code 2.90, MS ignition control. I have it so I can start with just a turn of key and it will warm up, start cold, start warm and start hot. My dile PW was getting down to 1.35 so I connected my vacuum pressure reducer function on the fuel regulator. Now I am using 20 psi high and 8 psi low. I have calculated injector flow at various fuel pressures and then tried to put variable "req fuel" in and not so good. When I put the lower fuel flow in the calculator I get higher "req fuel" which gives me lower VE numbers when it actually requires higher VE numbers. I have a smooth idle now within 6 VE boxes. I suppose I could trial and error each box but am hoping there is a better way. Motor is on run stand so can't drive it. I don't have VE analyze but will be getting it. How do you recommend making an initial VE table under those conditions.
thanks

You may be able to rev it into other cells and get the fuel dialed in there free-reving. But you won't be able to get a complete table until you can put the engine under load - either in a car or on an engine dyno.
