C14 on V3 board failed violently

Post by turbosundance »

A friend of mine tried to start his motor on MS for the first time but after cranking the motor with a weak battery on a charger the MS stopped communicating with the PC. He found that C14 had gone up in smoke. What would cause this?

Could be one of the following:

1. Voltage spike from a bad charger
2. C14 installed backwards
3. Defective C14
