HEI and MSD or EDIS
what would be better to use on the motor for all around street reliability???
thanks brad
78 firebird olds 455 with holley 4d FI soon to be swapped to MS
Re: HEI and MSD or EDIS
And you get a rock steady rpm signal to run the MS on, with no knobs to fool around with.
Timing jitter is eliminated and the ignition curve is made in MS and sent to EDIS over a simple
wire connection (SAWsignal)
And EDIS stuff is found in most junkyards ( although 8-cylinder modules are a bit rare in Europe)

Re: HEI and MSD or EDIS
I'm in sort of the same boat though. I've got a HEI (Early Rx7) distributer. When I installed my MSD 6A I removed the ignitor and connected the MSD's "signal/trigger" wire directly to the hall sensor.
When I see the MSD diagrams in the megamanual I notice the have the ignitor between the distrib and MS. Do you know why I need the ignitor?
My MS plans won't be using my distributer for trigger anyway... I'm just curious.
Thanks! How's the Old's?
