Pull-Up Resistor

Post by scnicholl »

Assembling a MS II w/V3.0
Have VR sensor & MSD 6A ignition
V3.0 assembly Guide step 65 note: says if using a high current driver circuit, you likely need to add a pull-up resistor.
DIYAutoTune.com/tech_articles_common MegaSquirt modifications_adding pull up resistor, says VR sensors always put out an AC signal and do not need this mod.
Any suggestions?

I was under the impression that you use the high current driver circuit if you intend to drive a coil straight from the MS itself (relegging the need for an ignitor like the MSD 6A).

How many tooth VR does your engine have?

And what engine is it for?
