RPM Fluctuations/Resets

Post by rvdooley »

I am in the process of assembling a MSII v3 for my 91 Mustang 5.0. I will be using the EECIV adapter board which I have already assembled. I am at the step 55 test and I am having some problems. When I power up the MS, none of the POTS work. The RPM pegs between 0 and 8000 RPM about once every second and the MegaTune shows a reset about every 5 seconds. I had one successful startup where the TPS, IAT and CLT pots worked (the O2 did not) but as soon as I turned up the RPM, the above problem returned. I have checked over everything in troubleshooting and all seems well. The timer is counting up normally and the Baro seems correct. Any Ideas?

My System

MS II V3 (Purchased about 2 years ago)
MegaTune V2.25
Firmware V2.89
MegaStim V 2.2

D1 Jumpered
D2 2k 1/4 watt resistor
TachSelect to OptoIn , XG1 to XG2, TSEL to OptoOut Jumpered

Thanks

Lance: Thanks for the response. I did have the ECU type set though I do need to reset it each time I start MegaTune. I reflashed the processor and that seemed to settle things down a bit. I still have no response from the RPM pot and I am still getting an occasional reset.
