no spark
capacitor hooked up to the switched 12v lead of the #8 pin to coil to ground. Is this a capacitor I am looking at and how does this set up operate? There is also a 100 ohm resister with a jumper on the V3 board. If this isn't configured yet, would this also
cause no spark to generate? Please help, shaper.
Re: no spark
The EDIS system should operate with no connection to the MS. It goes to a 'limp home' mode of 10 degrees BTDC, if you've set up the trigger correctly. Of course MS won't inject without a tach feed from EDIS.shaper wrote:I am using a ford edis system with my subagon conversion msII. On the edis wiring diagram, it shows what looks like a 25uf

Would another type of coil be a better choice?

Re: no spark
That's not likely to work with the EDIS module unless you design some sort of adapter circuit.shaper wrote:Yes this coil has an internal igniter.

Re: no spark
I'm in the UK and imported a used EDIS 8 set complete from the US as 8 cylinder Fords etc ain't common here. It came with two coil packs.shaper wrote:What year and model ford coil could you recommend I use? My engine is a 4 cylinder ej25 subaru.
To save money I made up plug leads after sourcing used ones from scrap yards for the connectors, and all the UK Fords I saw used the same coil pack as the US ones I had.
