Knock sensor calls for a 4.7 diode, radio shack only has 5.1

Post by nathanklein »

I'm not to smart about what a diode can and cant do, thats probably why I went with the assebled model... I am doing the Knock Sensor circuit in a MS2 pcb3 and from the instuctions it says I need a 1K ohm resister (1/4 or 1/8) and a 4.7 volt zener 1w diode. Got the 1k ohm resister but all RadioShack had was a 5.1 volt zener 1W diode. Will the 5.1 work ok or will it possably fry something or cause problems. I can order a 4.7 but it will take a week or so to get here and I would like to get this done asap. Thanks for any help!

In the UK there are several electronics suppliers that do mail order and will get stuff to you the next day. In the US that would be Mouser or Digikey, etc? Or try Ebay.
