OS installer

]hi,

i downloaded the new intaller and ran it. i get:

An Error Occured launching TunersStudio
Cannot run program "/usr/bin/java"(in directory"/Users/shared/Tunerstudio"): error=13, permission denied.

What am i doing wrong? as my knowledge in macs is fairly limited i would need clear instruction...


(I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.7)

The OS X installer should really be in the beta download section, it is new and not broadly tested. So it is likely not something you are doing.

It seems you don't have rights to the dir:
/Users/Shared/
I put it there in the installer, thinking all users had rights to that dir, I do But I am not a Mac expert and may have done something to make it that way.

If you go there in finder are you able Copy files to /Users/Shared/ ?
What version OS are you running?

I just created a brand new Standard user and get the error you describe...

It looks like the Permissions are set wrong on the TunerStudio folder.

I'll fix this. In the mean time you can either change the folder permissions, or grab the regular tar file and extract it some where under your home dir.
Double click TunerStudioMS.jar and it should go.

i had the authorization to the users/shared dir . but the tunerstudio dri. didint transfer the authorization for my user ( created an unknown user and authorized it). just went in get info and added me as authorized (read and write) and it seems to work. ill need to have it connected in the car to be sure

Yeah, I saw that. The permissions from my local dir came through.
