windows 7 and blue screens

Post by mcobb »

ms11, v3, 2.687 , megatune, prolific usb, vr sender
I recently replaced my laptop with a new win7 model.
My first problem was getting authority to save msq's & datalogs.
I forget how,but some google searching walked me through how to authorize megasquirt to save files.
My current problem is any bump and my laptop goes blue screen & has to reboot, major pita.
If I unplug the usb I get blue screen,so I suppose the connection is being disrupted, but usb feels snug enough.
any one know any fix for this?
thanks,
Marc

Its the way the prolific USB driver is written. Any disruption to the Serial port connection, and it goes nuts and crashes. You would have to write a new driver to fix it. I have the same issue on my Win7 ASUS. Good thing it boots ridiculously fast.
