Timeing with ms2

Timeing with ms2

So I am going efi with my drag car. I ended up going with..
Ms2 with v3.57
Bosh bip373 ingnition
Mapdaddy x30
And I wondering if I have a locked out distributor and I take timing away for tuning how dose it work with a locked dis set up.

You would have the MegaSquirt read the sensor in the distributor, and then use its spark output to command the coil when to fire. See these links for more details.

You use the dizzy trigger (of whatever type, even points) and MS then feeds the coil.

However, you may have problems preventing cross fire, as the rotor arm no longer advances with the firing point. More of a problem on a 8 than 4 cylinder, though.
I''d think about EDIS. Triggering from the crank gives a much more accurate spark - the dizzy is driven off the cam and chains etc stretch and slop around. Most parts can be bought secondhand cheaply and are very reliable.
