IAT and MAT?

Post by somolovitch3 »

I have an IAT located about 6" in front of the throttle plates. There is a place on the manifold for another sensor (MAT). Can one run both sensers at the same time? If so, how? High speed switching between the two? Just connect the two together? Naw, that would relly give a bad reading. :(

There is only one place to wire in an air temp sensor, be it "Intake" or "Manifold". There has been some talk on the Other board about switching between sensors to deal with hot-restart heat soak issues, but I don't think anything has come of it.

Are we talking about some kind of timer to switch from the MAT to the IAT for 5 min at start up? Use a thermo sensor to decide if the "switch" is needed?

Has anyone else gone crazy in this direction?
