AE settings

Post by bmcewen »

I know I read a post on hear before about this but now I can't find it. I am tryin to find a good setting for the accel enrichments settings for my set up. It is my understanding that when I mash the petal if the %/sec is 2000 than this means it went from 0 to full throttle in 1/20th of a sec. Is this an accurate assumption? and does this same theory apply to mapddot? My question on the settings is should this max number for rate of change be the number used in the tables then tapper back towards say a min rate of change? for example could I use 2000 1500 1000 150 in the table for %/sec on the mapdot? also any suggestions on pw increase would be much appreciated and taken under advisment.

bcmcewen,

I wouldn't assume that MAP follows TPS. At low engine speeds, the MAP can climb to 100 kPa at low throttle openings. For example, on my vehicle, I get full barometric pressure (~100kPa) at less than 25% TPS at 2500 rpm.

But otherwise it looks to me like your thinking is sound. AE enrichment is one of those things that depends on the user and vehicle use, as well as on how the other tunign steps were done (VE table, etc.). So it really is something you have to be at the engine to do.

There are accel tuning tips here: http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/tune.htm#accel

For one example, if you look at that page from the link above, my AE settings (406cid small block Chevy in a light car) are shown in the image. My REQ_FUEL is 16.7, so you can see how the are all a bit smaller than that, but start just under it.

Does 2000 seem high? AE wizard reports 2000 when I mash it but Mega log viewer shows it maxed out at 200... this is for tpsdot it doesn't puff black smoke or buck or stall
