key off & injectors spray !

Post by kastrupj »

Hi , I have a MS2 v3 with 2.684 firmware , running a 2.5 turbo with 42lb High Imp. Injectors . I was tinkering with tucking some of the harness and decided to look at the spray of the injectors. small puff at key on as expected, cranking looks nice also. as soon as I turned the key off the injectors opened and sprayed till they finally expelled the 40+ psi of fuel pressure out off all 4 .

I've also had a hot restart problem which I now think is directly linked to the inj's staying open and flooding the motor every time I shut it off. and washing down the cylinders all the time , and fouling my spark plugs. Duh? :(

any-who what should I be looking to correct to make it right ? adding a separate relay for the injector feeds ?

I'm running a gm single wire alternator and edis 4 other than that it's been reliable except for hot restarts
thanks for any help !

Make sure your harness is wired up in such a way that the injectors do not receive power with the key off. The standard MegaSquirt diagram has the MS and injectors powered off the same relay to prevent exactly the problem you're having.
