Direct Coil with GM DIS coil

Post by 8803 »

I am using rewired single GM DIS coil with points to operate my engine. The engine is (2) cylinder and needs the waste spark design. When I disconnect the points setup and plug into the MS2 the engine will only run for a few seconds and the MS2 shuts down.
I have bench tested the MS2 with a standard Bosh coil and it operates a spark plug with no problem. I read the article on DIYAutoTune about using the GM coil directly so I believe they will work. A data log shows nothing because it is as if the ECU was switched off.
What would make the MS2 consistently shut down after only a few seconds?

Did the data log show anything before starting?
