Megasuirt 2 5 to 4 cylinder convesrion.

Post by ms1424 »

Hello guys.I have a megasquirt 2 v2 which is cuurently made for 5 cylinder engines.I want to make it run a 4 cylinder engine but unfortunately i couldn't find any info on how to make this conversion. As far as i know there is something that has to be de-soldered on PCB. I am still new to Megasquirt so would be very thankful if any of you can give me some pointers on how to return it to the 4 cylinder configuration.I apologize if have accidentlly made a second topic of this kind.I might have missed it.
Best regards :)

It's not likely to need anything removed to change the number of cylinders unless you need to change it for a different sensor type. The biggest question is what sort of ignition you're running on the new engine and if the MegaSquirt is set up for it.

The plan for the megasquirt is to be installed on a Fiat Cinquecento 1.1 Sporting. I has the EDIS ignition system. 60-2 triggering wheel. :)

EDIS can only be used with a 36-1 wheel.
