What is the max rpm you plan to run? You could try the 5ohm coils. What was your previous coil setup?
Maybe the battery is on its way out? I like to see over 13v when revving.

7500rpm max power, 8000rpm retard.

Ive fully charged my battery as constant stop / start / test in the shed has flattened it a fair bit, and i couldnt start it unless i jumped it. It still feels "fluffy" at ~5000rpm. But i suspect a weak battery can cause that.
im going to follow the flow chart HERE (pdf) and see if i cant turn something up.
Bikes dont start charging the battery till about 3000rpm+ on my bike, and if my stator is under powered, that would definitely be a cause. Ill investigate further.
Im still not sure on how to set the dwell. Its currently 8ms, and might be a reason why its still a bit "fluffy" as it wants 10ms.

I dont really want to buy new coils like the 5ohm model. I was recommended 3ohm as they are close to my stock units.

EDIT
-----
That flow chart worked a charm.. Sorted the problem right out.. I had a 0.25v earth leak on the Neg side. Added a new wire in to make it more direct, and it went to 0.00v leak.. and bike made an instant recovery and charge is back to normal.

A long time ago I saw a little program written by Bruce Bowling I believe, it was called
Ignition Coil Analyser I think. Does anyone have a link to this program if it still exists
somewhere on the 'net?
