Escort '93 1.9L Throttle Body Bypass Valve Question

This throttle body has an idle bypass valve on it. Do anyone know how it works? It has 2 wires so I'm assuming it's a solenoid. Is it just an on/off or is there some kind of variable control, PWM etc?.

Yes it's PWM controlled. You will need to upgrade the Idle driver Transistor. I prefer a 2-5amp darlington such as the TIP120, Some have had luck with the ZTX688. As always YMMV.
