I just joined as I am building a peripheral ported 13b rotary and plan on using twin 60mm throtle bodys. I am looking for well priced good quality items or some sort of design that i could make my self. Anyone made there own throtle bodys? This would be my first fuel injected setup so I dont have alot of knowledge on the subect but what i do have is machining experince and the a workshop. Please tell me all that you can in simple terms.

Aren't twin 60's going to be a bit big for a 13b engine?  It seems like off idle would be really touchy with such large bodies

Probably not - these beasts flow a lot of air at full output. Being peripheral ported, he's not going to be idling much below 2K or so anyway. Also, MAPdot can be made to handle situations like this quite nicely (with a little work and examining logs). I've 25K street miles on a street ported 12A w/ 2x50mm TBs and there's zero problems with tipin. Yes, you do get a very non-linear pedal at low load but it's manageable and well worth the high load reward -)

To the original poster: if you're handy with machine work, you might be able to do something adapting one of the GM LT1 aftermarket TBs. They make them in 58x2 and are usually 250-300 on eBay, I have no idea how much new.

what about a pair of 60mm Nissan throttles from a KA24E? Mercury Villager vans had them, Nissan Axxes vans had them, 240SX cars had them, some of the Nissan pickup trucks had them, Maybe the Altimas too...

There $395 aus brand new but then i got to thinking that i could make them. But before i go spending a few late nights at work I think i'll look into the Nissan ones 510rob mentioned, might save me a bit of stress.

I changed my mind - those things are waaaaaay better looking than stock Nissan units!!!

That setup looks pretty hyper! Is it a pair of Jenvey throttles, or another manufacturer's product?

That's like $300US - if it was me, this is a simple decision. Those things are badass. Do you have a web link for them? Do they come in smaller sizes? What do you have for a manifold, out of curiousity? So many questions, thanks for starting this thread.

There you go. I realy have no idea what brand they are or if they come in smaller sizes. It sorta looks like thats what i'll be using but i'll see how busy work is over the next few mounths and if it slows down i'll just make some up

I love the bling factor on this setup. The problem that can be a huge issue with this sort of setup is with reversion and the fuel cloud the forms upstream of where the fuel is introduced. This can be huge with Webber side drafts when allowed the be out in the airstream. The fuel gets blown right off the top of the velosity stack and ends up on the rider and the piston melts. Normaly the rider is saying "The mixtures were PERFECT on the dyno." Containing the entire setup in an airbox is about the only solution and 1/2 of the bling goes away.

O it will defiatly be going in an airbox i like to keep dirt on the outside of the motorrather than the inside
