Fuel Rail size

I have checked the manual with this question, and done some searches, but have not found any information on how to determine size of fuel rails required.

462ci V8 naturally aspirated. i expect BSFC should be below 0.50 and power will be about 525hp. injectors will be 42#.

I have not decided on 3/8 or 1/2 fuel line (taking suggestions), but right now I am building the top end on the motor. Ross sells 3 fuel rail extrusions; either 0.500" ID, 0.690" ID, or 0.800" ID.

Does anyone have any tables or information on how to properly size fuel rails?

Thanks in advance,
Scott.

Hi Scott, here's a link to some very good info by Magnaflow

I don't know if they mention fuel rails but good info either way.A 1/2 ID fuel rail running at EFI pressures will flow enough fuel for 600 hp easily.AEM advertises their 1/2 fuel rails to support 1000 hp. http://www.aempower.com/ViewCategory.aspx?CategoryID=53

Thank you, that was helpful. Ross confirmed that 0.500" ID would suffice.

Ross sells the Dash 6 AN to Dash 6 O-ring http://www.rossmachineracing.com/20270266S.html

I was going to leave it to the machinist to thread the end of the rail.
