EDIS Timing Question

Morning MS World!:
I recently installed Esslinger Underdrive pullies on my Ford 2.3 Turbo. While I had it all apart, I also installed PyroPete's 36-1 wheel for my future EDIS conversion.
With the EDIS wheel my original timing belt cover no longer fits. (The original timing cover had timing marks molded into it). Also, with the 36-1 wheel, I cannot use the Esslinger timing pointer. So... I'm left without a way to check the timing on the car.
Has anyone else approached this problem? Or, am I overlooking an obvious answer like "You don't need to check timing with an EDIS conversion..."?
(I did speak with PyroPete and he was very willing to help me devise a solution. Before we dove in, though, I wanted to see if anyone had already been down this road!)
Thanks in advance to any suggestions!
Peter
