Injector pairing - which cylinders?

Post by GregSL75 »

I think this is a reasonably simple question, i'm just struggling to work it out for myself and can't seem to find it explicitly in the Megamanual.

Assuming I am firing 2 pairs of injectors sequentially, which cylinders do I pair up?

I'm guessing injector bank 1 will be on cylinder 1, but which other cylinder is best to match with? Assuming a 1342 firing order, Cylinder 3 is next to intake, so that would be bank 2 and then cyl 4 on bank 1 and cyl 2 on bank 2 ?

1 and 4, 3 and 2 would seem a sensible pairing?

Or does this actually matter at all?

Greg,

You've got it right..... 1+4, 3+2 paired together. It is important to get it right - i had it wrong and it made things difficult to tune, especially accel enrichments.

I am doing an MS-II 3.0 install on my 90 mazda miata with a 1.6. I was gonna tap into my oem injector wiring harness when i noticed that the injector pairing is 1&3 and 2&4. The engines firing order is 1-3-4-2. I guess I am gonna have to rewire the injector harness and pair them as 1&4 and 2&3.
