Sync pulse timing on GM DIS V6

The page http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/GM_DIS.htm says that in a 6-cylinder application, the evenly spaced notches coincide with TDC. The sync pulse notch coincide with 10° after TDC for the #1 cylinder.

However, the VR sensor signal diagram on the same page shows that the sync pulse comes after the TDC of the #6 cylinder.

Which is correct?

Let me answer my own question, now that I have finally found the answer.

The numbers in the VR sensor signal diagram are not cylinder numbers, but they are simply numbers for the notches. The notch numbering starts from the notch following the sync pulse. However, cylinder #1 TDC is at the notch preceding the sync pulse, i.e. at notch #6. The following table shows how the notch and cylinder numbers correlate:

Notch Cylinder at TDC
1 -
2 2, 5
3 -
4 3, 6
5 -
6 1, 4
7 -
