tps calibration, adc raw values and flood clear

I have a tps that read from 39 to 140 raw values. Another that reads from 30 to 88 (different manifold)...both these are off fiats, and one from a rover that reads from 20 to 220.

The rover one will be fitted in the end and provides the greatest resolution but i will have to make do with the 39 - 140 TPS for now.

I calibrate it, fine, but when i change the flood clear point on my ms-extra, it doesn't seem to make any difference. I can only ever get ti to trigger with the 20 - 220 TPS calibrated  regardless of what i do.

Are there any other settings that use a raw adc value, that using my current tps could cause problems with, and can i get my current setup to enable flood clear?

Cheers,

Kristian

When you "calibrate" the TPS sensor the raw ADC value does not change. So to get the flood-clear mode with your 39 - 140 (raw ADC) TPS sensor, set flood-clear to something below 140, say 120 or so. If that doesn't work, let us know what code are you using, I'm talking about MS1-Extra.

thats what i tried, but flood clear won't trigger. I set it to 120, saved it, reset MT and MS and it still didn't seem to trigger. Thats why i'm confused lol

Cheers for your help anyway.

OK, the MS chip requires a voltage higher than 120 ADC which is 120/256 x 5 = 2.34V before it will do flood clear mode. So with the MS powered up, engine not running, and someone or something holding the pedal to the metal, can you measure a voltage greater than 2.34V at pin 26 of the microprocessor? or from the wiper of the pot?

How are you testing flood clear mode?

I have never tested it or used it myself, you could be discovering an unknown bug for all I know : )
