2.883i code, new "Other Fuel Settings" stuff
Read the manual to see if your question is answered there before posting. Many users will not reply if the answer is already available in the manual.
If your question is about troubleshooting, configuration, or tuning, you MUST include your processor type (MS-I or MS-II) and code version in your post. If your question is about PCB assembly or modifications, you must also include the main board version number (1.01, 2.2 or 3.0). For tuning/troubleshooting questions, please attached a datalog and your MSQ file to your post.
If you have questions about MS1/Extra or MS2/Extra code configuration or tuning, please post them at www.msextra.com Such questions posted here will be moved to: a temporary MSextra sub-forum, where they will be removed after 7 days

2.883i code, new "Other Fuel Settings" stuff
Anyway, the question I have is: there are a couple of new settings in MegaTune that aren't explained in the manual (at least, I couldn't find them) and that aren't self-explanatory (at least not to me). Under Fuel Set-up | Other Fuel Settings, there is "Additional Fuel (switched by E0 low or cyclic)" and "Additional Fuel (cyclc only)." What do these two things do?
Thanks,

Hey Al,grippo wrote:when shifting codes like this, when in doubt leave the defaults. The two items you referred to are for experimental use. They can provide extra fuel for Nitrous use or they can be used to provide a measured increase in fuel that can be used to test the response of the EGO system.
Is there any documentation for the Additional Fuel settings? While I did seem to get some pretty good results when I built my VE table "ledge" for measuring my EGO delay, I thought I'd give your additional fuel settings feature a try to confirm my results.
Ok, under the menu Additional fuel (switched by E0 or cyclic) I see the following option:
Fuel added to base PW (msec)
I understand that it will add that value to the base PW when the additional fuel is triggered - that part's easy. What I don't get is If you specify a value for both of the items under Additional Fuel (cyclic only), will it pulse every number of specified seconds AND the number of specified cycles?
I guess what's also confusing is the word cyclic - is that referring to the number of cycles or the fact that it's cyclical in nature (repeating every number of cycles or number of seconds)?
Also, what's E0? I'm guessing that's an input into the processor?
Thanks,
Mike

The logic for the extra pulsewidth for x-tau tuning is as follows:
Deliver the specified additional pw amount for the specified number of tach cycles, then resume normal operation for specified number of seconds to allow all to clear, then repeat forever.
To kill the process, set the specified additional pw amount to 0, then zero the specified number of wait seconds.
E0 is the port pin on the processor - you can trace it to the connector pin from the schematic. It is only used as an input for flex fuel or for N2O enrichment.

To make things a little easier to understand to the first-time looker, you might want to swap "Time between added fuel" and "Number of cycles" and then rename "Number of cycles" to "Number of cycles to add fuel". Minor, but might make things a little easier to understand...
I'm going to give it a try today. Thanks for adding that feature - should come in very handy!
