required fuel calculation

Post by gurunutkins »

my car is up and runs well but there is something i dont understand (actually one of many things :D ) the reqd fuel is supposed to be the injector pulse in ms so why when I run the reqd fuel do get a value of around 12ms but when the car is running the PW is around 6.8ms in warm up dropping to about 4ms. According to the manual when running with 8 injectors on an 8 cylinder with 2 squirts alternating the top value and the bottom (which goes to the MS) are the same and both of mine read around 12ms.
probably a very stupid question but its bothering me as I cannot figure it out
thanks
