my PWM idle valve hums

Post by rug »

I just hooked up my PWM valve and it hums back at me. It is a honda valve from a b16a1. If I increase the frequency the hum is less audible. How do I figure out what frequency my valve works at? Is huming bad? Can the wrong setting kill my valve?

Try around 400 Hz. If the frequency is too far off it will make a fair amount of noise.

400 Hz seems impossible since you can only put the multiplier to 8 x 30,5. But it is a lot quieter at that setting!

Now all I got to do is get a good signal from my VR sensor and then I am going to try to start this thing :)

Sounds like you're getting close Carl! 8)

Where was your PWM idle valve located? I'm building MSIIv3.0 for my '97 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8 turbo. I can't find my idle valve, nor can I find what it even looks like...
